  • A Comparison of the Mental Health of Teachers in Public and Private Schools

    Abstract

    This study investigates the mental health of teachers working in public versus private schools focusing on factors such as stress levels job satisfaction and overall well-being. Using a mixed-methods approach the research includes quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with teachers from a diverse range of educational institutions. The quantitative data collected from standardized mental health assessment tools reveal significant differences in stress levels and job satisfaction between the two groups. Teachers in public schools report higher levels of stress and lower job satisfaction compared to their counterparts in private schools. Qualitative findings suggest that these differences may be attributed to variations in workload administrative support and resources available in each type of school. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions to improve mental health support for teachers particularly in public schools and suggests policy changes to address the sys
