Abstract
Mahatma Gandhi’s political philosophy grounded in moral idealism and spiritual humanism remains one of the most distinctive contributions to world thought. His ideas on truth non-violence self-rule and social justice not only liberated India from colonial domination but also offered a moral compass for democratic governance. This study undertakes a critical analysis of Gandhian ideology and its relevance to contemporary Indian politics using insights exclusively drawn from established academic sources such as the works of Dr Rajesh Choudhary (IJIRCT 2017) Dr Usha Dahiya (JETIR 2019) Rafiyah Rasool & Aadil Mir (IJEKS 2023) Dr Tarun Gogoi (IJRSS 2018) Manas Kandi (IJPSG 2024) and Rajeev S.P. (Rajagiri 2019). The paper re-examines the philosophical core of Gandhism its historical applications and its reinterpretation in modern governance. It concludes that while Gandhi’s image has been appropriated symbolically his ethical framework remains indispensable for ensuring integrity inclusivene
