Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation are reshaping employment patterns across the globe and India’s service sector is no exception. As one of the largest contributors to India’s GDP and employment the service sector is experiencing both opportunities and disruptions due to advancements in technology. This paper explores the multifaceted impacts of AI and automation on employment patterns in India’s service sector focusing on job displacement skill transformation productivity gains and policy challenges. By analyzing sectorspecific case studies workforce trends and economic data this study provides a nuanced understanding of how AI and automation are influencing India’s labor market dynamics and offers recommendations for adapting to this technological transition.
