Abstract
Bihar’s industrial environment has long been shaped by historical disruptions regional disadvantages inadequate infrastructural networks and the economic shocks that followed the bifurcation of the state in 2000. Over the past two decades however the state has entered a new phase of gradual transformation characterised by a rise in agro-based industries expansion of micro and small-scale manufacturing improvements in connectivity and policy-driven investment initiatives aimed at industrial revival. Despite the structural weaknesses that continue to constrain growth Bihar’s industries have shown signs of diversification and resilience through the strengthening of food processing textile clusters dairy-based enterprises small engineering units chemical sectors and emerging service-based industries.
