Abstract
In this study we make an effort to provide a theoretical assessment of the multinational corporations that Greece may potentially recruit. The fact that Greece has had relatively low levels of foreign direct investment (FDI) during the last 20 years is what prompted this assessment. In order to achieve this goal I review the literature on MNCs and settle on a two-type organizational model for MNCs divided into vertical and horizontal production structures. Based on my research I have come up with some theories on the kinds of multinational corporations that Greece may potentially entice. The results show that the Greek government should change its approach to attract high-value foreign direct investment.
