Abstract

Surrogacy has emerged as a pivotal and often debated reproductive arrangement in contemporary society offering complex benefits and raising significant ethical legal psychological and socio-economic challenges. By definition surrogacy involves a woman known as the surrogate carrying and delivering a child on behalf of individuals or couples who are unable to conceive naturally. The practice has gained prominence due to advances in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) increased recognition of diverse family structures and evolving societal attitudes toward infertility same-sex parenting and reproductive choice. Surrogacy provides intended parents with the invaluable opportunity to experience biological parenthood fulfilling deeply personal and emotional aspirations that may not be attainable through adoption or conventional conception.
