Abstract

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision for Indian democracy represents one of the most profound intellectual contributions to modern political thought in India. As the chief architect of the Indian Constitution Ambedkar conceptualized democracy not merely as a system of government but as a comprehensive social philosophy that ensures liberty equality fraternity and justice for all citizens irrespective of caste class gender or religion. His democratic ideals were deeply rooted in social transformation and moral reconstruction where political democracy could only survive when complemented by social and economic democracy.
