    Abstract

    Subhash Chandra Bose a prominent leader in Indias struggle for independence envisioned a form of nationalism that was both inclusive and revolutionary. His idea of nationalism differed significantly from that of his contemporaries emphasizing not only freedom from British rule but also the creation of a strong self-reliant and unified nation. Bose’s nationalism was characterized by its commitment to complete sovereignty social justice and secularism. He believed in mobilizing the masses irrespective of their religion caste or creed to fight against colonial oppression. His leadership in forming the Indian National Army (INA) demonstrated his belief in militant action as a means to achieve independence.
