Abstract

Rapid technological advancement has introduced artificial intelligence into nearly every sphere of political communication and journalism. Between 2018 and 2022 AI-assisted misinformation political bots and manipulated visuals reshaped how citizens perceive truth and authority. The intersection of technology and politics has redefined ethical challenges for journalists particularly in detecting verifying and reporting algorithmically generated disinformation. The growing dependence on automated systems for content creation has raised concerns about authenticity accountability and the erosion of democratic values. The analysis emphasizes the responsibility of journalists policymakers and media institutions to ensure that innovation serves transparency rather than distortion. Responsible integration of AI and the revival of ethical journalism emerge as the twin pillars for preserving democratic integrity in the digital age.
