Abstract

Indian democracy is considered to be one of the largest and most dynamic forms of democracy. In the early twenty-first century there have been tremendous political social economic and technological changes that have taken place. These changes have presented both possibilities and problems for democratic governance in the country. For example the expansion of democratic institutions improvements in the process of elections and inclusion in the development process have resulted from democratic changes. However at the same time problems like political polarisation corruption social inequalities dissemination of misinformation communalism and questioning of institutional independence have led to concern over the quality of democracy in the country.
