Abstract
The institution of marriage and the structure of family have historically occupied a central position in Indian society functioning as the foundation of social organization cultural continuity and moral regulation. However the rapid process of urbanization globalization economic transformation and technological advancement in contemporary India has significantly reshaped traditional marital patterns and family values. Urban centers have become spaces where social norms cultural expectations and individual aspirations interact in complex ways leading to evolving perceptions about marriage family responsibilities gender roles and interpersonal relationships.
