  • Climate Anxiety and Mental Health Awareness Among University Students

    Abstract

    Climate change has emerged as one of the most significant global challenges of the twenty-first century affecting environmental stability economic systems public health and social life across the world. In recent years increasing attention has been directed toward the psychological consequences of climate change particularly among young populations. University students frequently experience emotional distress uncertainty fear helplessness and anxiety associated with climate crises environmental degradation and predictions regarding the future of the planet. The growing awareness of global warming natural disasters biodiversity loss pollution and ecological instability has contributed to the emergence of “climate anxiety” as an important mental health concern within contemporary society. Climate anxiety refers to persistent emotional worry fear and psychological stress associated with environmental destruction and uncertainty regarding future ecological conditions.
