Abstract
The rapid evolution of digital communication has transformed crisis response strategies particularly in the management of public health emergencies. The rise of social media as an essential tool for crisis communication has enabled governments healthcare institutions and public health officials to disseminate critical information engage with the public and combat misinformation in real time. This paper examines the role of social media in crisis communication focusing on its effectiveness in managing public health emergencies such as pandemics disease outbreaks and other global health crises. By analyzing case studies from past health emergencies—including the COVID-19 pandemic Ebola outbreak and Zika virus epidemic—this study highlights how digital platforms have been leveraged to provide timely updates mobilize resources and facilitate public trust.
