  • Enhancing Childrens Academic Achievements with Metalinguistic Awareness

    Abstract

    Metalinguistic awareness the ability to reflect on and manipulate the structural features of language is a critical cognitive skill that supports language development and academic achievement in children. This study explores the role of metalinguistic awareness in enhancing childrens academic outcomes particularly in literacy and problem-solving skills. By integrating metalinguistic activities into early education curricula we aim to assess the impact on reading comprehension writing proficiency and overall cognitive flexibility. The research involved a longitudinal study of elementary school children who participated in a structured metalinguistic training program. Results indicate significant improvements in literacy skills and academic performance suggesting that fostering metalinguistic awareness can be a powerful tool in early education.
