  • Examining the Mental Health of Public and Private School Teachers: A Comparison

    Abstract

This study examines the mental health disparities between public and private school teachers focusing on stress burnout and overall psychological well-being. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach we surveyed 500 teachers across both sectors and conducted in-depth interviews with a subset of participants. Our findings reveal significant differences in mental health outcomes with public school teachers reporting higher levels of stress and burnout compared to their private school counterparts. Factors contributing to these disparities include differences in resource availability administrative support and student demographics. This research underscores the need for targeted interventions to improve mental health support in public schools and highlights the importance of addressing systemic issues affecting teacher well-being.
