Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology platform-based businesses and flexible labor systems has significantly transformed employment structures across the world. In India the emergence of the gig economy has altered traditional concepts of work job security labor rights and professional identity. Digital platforms such as Uber Technologies Uber Zomato Zomato Swiggy Swiggy Amazon Amazon and numerous freelance marketplaces have created new forms of employment characterized by temporary contracts task-based labor flexible working hours and algorithmic management systems. The gig economy has become especially significant among urban youth and digitally skilled populations seeking employment opportunities in a rapidly changing economic environment. While the gig economy provides flexibility income opportunities and technological accessibility it simultaneously raises serious concerns regarding employment security labor protection social welfare and economic stability in contemporary Indi
