Abstract

Globalization has profoundly influenced Indian classical dance traditions such as Bharatanatyam Kathak Odissi and Kuchipudi. While these dance forms are rooted in centuries-old cultural spiritual and regional practices globalization has created new opportunities for their dissemination preservation and reinvention. Platforms like international festivals global academies and digital media have enabled Indian classical dance to transcend geographical boundaries and reach global audiences. At the same time globalization has introduced challenges such as cultural homogenization commercialization and the risk of losing traditional authenticity. This paper explores how globalization shapes Indian classical dance analyzing its impact on pedagogy performance cultural identity and sustainability.
