Abstract

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule a pioneer in the social reform movement of 19th-century India played a significant role in shaping the foundations of India’s social justice movement. His radical ideas on caste gender equality and education brought about a paradigm shift in the socio-political landscape of colonial India. This research paper explores Phule’s contributions analyzing his philosophical underpinnings and social activism that challenged the existing power structures predominantly in Maharashtra but with implications across the Indian subcontinent.
