  • Media Representation of Environmental Studies in Delhi Schools

    Abstract

    This study examines the role and impact of media in shaping the environmental education curriculum in schools across Delhi. The research investigates how various media channels—such as television newspapers social media and online platforms—represent environmental issues and the extent to which these representations influence both the content and delivery of environmental studies in classrooms. Using a mixed-method approach the study involves a content analysis of environmental topics covered by major media outlets alongside interviews with educators and students from different schools in Delhi. The findings reveal a significant correlation between media coverage of environmental issues and the themes emphasized in school curricula. Media narratives particularly those highlighting pollution climate change and sustainability are found to be prominently reflected in classroom discussions and educational materials.
