  • Media Representation of Social Justice Movements in the Digital Age

    Abstract

    The digital age has transformed how social justice movements are represented and perceived through media. Traditional forms of activism have evolved into digital campaigns utilizing social media platforms online journalism and multimedia content to raise awareness mobilize support and influence public discourse. This research examines the role of media in shaping narratives around social justice movements assessing the impact of digital representation on public perception policy changes and grassroots activism. By analyzing case studies of contemporary movements such as Black Lives Matter MeToo and climate justice initiatives this study explores the dual nature of media coverage—how it amplifies voices of marginalized communities while also being susceptible to misinformation polarization and corporate influence.
