  • Migration Identity and Cultural Adaptation in Metropolitan Cities

    Abstract

    Migration has emerged as one of the most defining phenomena of the contemporary globalized world especially within rapidly expanding metropolitan cities. Urban centers attract individuals and communities from diverse geographical linguistic religious and socio-economic backgrounds in search of employment opportunities higher education improved living standards and social mobility. As migrants relocate from rural regions small towns or even foreign countries into metropolitan spaces they encounter a complex process of identity negotiation and cultural adaptation. Metropolitan cities become spaces where traditional values intersect with modern urban lifestyles creating both opportunities for integration and challenges related to alienation discrimination and cultural conflict. The experiences of migrants are deeply influenced by factors such as class gender education language occupation and the socio-political environment of the host city.
