Abstract
The idea of Akhand Bharat or an undivided India united in cultural memory historical continuity and civilizational rootedness has long shaped the political imagination of Indian leaders thinkers and social reformers. Among the many leaders who contributed significantly to this discourse Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel occupies a distinctive place due to his pragmatic political approach commitment to national unity and belief in the civilizational wholeness of the Indian subcontinent. Patel’s role in integrating more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union offered him a unique perspective on political consolidation federal integrity and national sovereignty.
