    Abstract

    Political polarization has emerged as one of the most defining characteristics of contemporary democratic societies and India is no exception to this global phenomenon. The increasing division of political ideologies identities and affiliations has significantly influenced the nature of social relationships and public discourse in the country. This study examines the dynamics of political polarization in India and its implications for social harmony with a particular focus on how media identity politics electoral competition and digital communication contribute to deepening divides.
