Abstract
The fashion industry is a part of development and a powerful driver of job creation with women making up to 80% of workforce. Being a $2.5 trillion-dollar industry it is also a top user of natural resources and polluter of the communities. Some of the most important global issues are associated with fashion industry. Impacts on environment health and biotic and abiotic resources melting glaciers rise in sea levels more frequent and severe floods and storms changing world precipitation patterns reducing biodiversity etc. During cultivation of cotton harmful fertilizers contaminate the water resources. During the garment manufacturing untreated toxic waste like lead arsenic mercury etc. is dumped into rivers substances which are dangerous for aquatic plants and animals.
