Abstract
The history of India’s freedom struggle is incomplete without acknowledging the remarkable and multidimensional contributions of women who participated with extraordinary courage determination and ideological clarity. The participation of women in the national movement evolved through various intellectual social and political phases beginning from early social reforms to the revolutionary and mass mobilization periods. Women contributed to every sphere of the struggle including leadership in political movements active involvement in revolutionary activities participation in mass civil disobedience campaigns social reform movements underground resistance operations and ideological mobilization through education and literature. Their participation challenged not only colonial oppression but also the patriarchal structures embedded within Indian society.
