  • Social Impact of Online Education on Indian Students (2018–2025)

    Abstract

    The rise of online education between 2018 and 2025 transformed the Indian education landscape and reshaped the social experiences of students across the country. Accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic digital platforms became the primary mode of learning for millions bridging geographical gaps but also revealing deep socio-economic inequalities. This paper examines the social impact of online education on Indian students exploring issues of accessibility inclusivity learning outcomes mental health peer interaction and cultural change. While online platforms like SWAYAM DIKSHA Byju’s and other EdTech initiatives expanded opportunities they also reinforced digital divides based on region class and gender. The shift altered the dynamics of student-teacher relationships socialization patterns and aspirations for higher education and employment.
