  • Social Values and Moral Crisis in Contemporary Society

    Abstract

    Social values constitute the ethical and moral foundations upon which societies are built. They guide human behavior regulate social interactions and provide a shared sense of purpose and cohesion. In contemporary society however there is a growing concern regarding the erosion of these values leading to what is commonly described as a moral crisis. Rapid globalization technological advancement consumerism individualism political polarization and weakening of traditional institutions have significantly transformed value systems across the world. This research paper critically examines the concept of social values the nature and causes of moral crisis in contemporary society and its implications for individuals communities and institutions.
