  • Surveillance Society: Privacy vs Security Debate in Contemporary India

    Abstract

    The rapid expansion of digital technologies state surveillance mechanisms and data-driven governance has transformed modern societies into what scholars describe as “surveillance societies.” In India this transformation has been particularly significant due to the integration of large-scale digital identification systems biometric databases and widespread use of surveillance tools in governance and security.
