Abstract

Indias agriculture sector is crucial for its economy providing employment for a significant portion of the population and contributing to food security. However challenges such as land degradation water scarcity climate change and inefficient practices threaten its sustainability and growth. This paper explores strategies for sustainable development and growth in Indian agriculture focusing on integrating environmental stewardship with economic development. Key strategies discussed include the adoption of precision farming technologies water-efficient irrigation methods sustainable land management practices and crop diversification. Additionally the role of policy interventions investment in research and development and support for farmer education are examined. The paper emphasizes the need for a holistic approach that balances productivity with ecological health to ensure long-term viability and resilience of the agricultural sector in India.
