Abstract
Traditional folk arts have been an integral part of cultural heritage across the world serving as a medium of storytelling identity preservation and community bonding. However with the advent of modernization globalization and digital entertainment many traditional folk art forms are facing a decline. The rapid urbanization of societies changing audience preferences and economic pressures on artisans have further contributed to the diminishing status of folk arts. This paper explores the sociological factors behind the decline of traditional folk arts analyzing how social economic and technological shifts have impacted these cultural expressions. It also examines efforts being made to revive and sustain folk arts in contemporary society and the challenges faced in these revival attempts.
