  • The Development and Analysis of a Heavy Vehicle Suspension Systems Composite Leaf Spring

    Abstract

The suspension system of heavy vehicles plays a critical role in ensuring ride comfort vehicle stability handling performance and load-carrying efficiency. Conventional steel leaf springs have long been employed in heavy vehicle suspension systems due to their simple design high load-bearing capacity and durability. However steel springs are heavy prone to fatigue failure over prolonged use and offer limited energy absorption capabilities. Recent advancements in material science have introduced composite materials such as glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRP) and carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) as alternatives for leaf spring design. Composite leaf springs present numerous advantages including weight reduction enhanced corrosion resistance improved fatigue life and customizable stiffness. This research paper focuses on the development structural analysis and performance evaluation of composite leaf springs specifically designed for heavy vehicle suspension systems. The study i
