  • The Development of Social Capital in Online Crowdsourcing Platforms

    Abstract

    The rapid growth of online crowdsourcing platforms has transformed how individuals businesses and organizations collaborate to solve problems share knowledge and generate value. These platforms which facilitate large-scale participation in tasks such as content creation data processing software development and social activism have become hubs for building social capital in digital spaces. This research examines the development of social capital within online crowdsourcing environments exploring the interplay between trust reciprocity shared norms and network building. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes an analysis of crowdsourcing communities interviews with platform participants and a review of existing literature this study reveals how social interactions in digital spaces contribute to the accumulation of both bonding and bridging social capital.
