    Abstract

    The emergence and rapid expansion of Information Technology (IT) after the year 2000 has fundamentally transformed the Library and Information Science (LIS) profession in India. Libraries once centered on physical collections and manual cataloging practices have increasingly adopted digital infrastructures networked information systems and automated services to meet the expectations of modern users.
