  • The Impact of Populist Politics: Regional vs. National Politics

    Abstract

    Populist politics has become a dominant force in both regional and national governance influencing policies voter behavior and democratic structures. Populism which typically appeals to the sentiments of the masses by projecting an “us versus them” narrative manifests differently at regional and national levels. While national populism often focuses on broad ideological movements regional populism is shaped by local socio-political contexts economic grievances and identity-based mobilization. This research paper explores the impact of populist politics by comparing regional and national populist movements analyzing their effects on governance economic policies and democratic institutions. Through case studies and theoretical analysis this study seeks to understand the strengths weaknesses and long-term implications of populist leadership in different political spheres.
