Abstract

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel occupies a towering position in the making of modern India especially in the historic process of unifying the nation after independence. At a time when India stood on the brink of territorial fragmentation political instability and communal unrest Patel emerged as the strongest force safeguarding national unity.
