Abstract

This Study explores the complex and often contentious legacy of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar a key figure in Indias freedom movement and an early proponent of Hindutva ideology. The paper delves into the ideological and historical contradictions surrounding Savarkars life and work highlighting the polarization of opinion about his role in Indian history. While some view him as a visionary nationalist others criticize his role in fostering religious divisiveness. The abstract underscores the ongoing debates about Savarkar’s contributions and the inconsistencies in his political philosophy which continue to influence contemporary Indian society and politics.
