  • The use of translanguaging as a means of encouraging the adoption of minority languages

    Abstract

    This study explores the application of translanguaging as an innovative pedagogical approach to promote the adoption and preservation of minority languages. Translanguaging involves the fluid use of multiple languages in a single context, allowing speakers to draw on their entire linguistic repertoire. The research investigates how this method can create more inclusive and effective learning environments for minority language speakers by validating and integrating their linguistic identities. Through a series of case studies and classroom observations, the study highlights the positive impact of translanguaging on student engagement, identity affirmation, and language proficiency.
