    Abstract

    Open source software (OSS) has emerged as a transformative tool for businesses across various sectors including bookshops providing cost-effective customizable and collaborative solutions. This research examines the use and access to open source software in bookshops exploring its adoption integration and impact on operational efficiency inventory management customer service and sales analytics. The study analyzes the factors influencing OSS adoption including technical expertise cost considerations community support and organizational culture. By employing a mixed-methods approach combining surveys of bookshop owners and managers with qualitative interviews and secondary data analysis the research identifies the patterns of OSS usage challenges faced in implementation and the benefits realized.
