Abstract

The Value Engineering (VE) Job Plan is a systematic approach designed to improve the value of products by evaluating their function and cost-effectiveness. This paper explores the application of the VE Job Plan method in product enhancement focusing on how it can optimize both performance and cost-efficiency. The study outlines the VE Job Plan phases—information function analysis creative evaluation development and presentation—and demonstrates how each phase contributes to identifying opportunities for product improvement. Case studies illustrate successful implementations of the VE method in various industries highlighting the potential for increased value through innovative design and cost reduction. The paper concludes that the VE Job Plan is a powerful tool for enhancing products offering practical guidelines for integrating value engineering principles into product development processes.
