  • Youth Unemployment and Political Instability: A Global Perspective

    Abstract

    Youth unemployment is one of the most pressing challenges facing the world today. As global economies struggle to recover from past recessions the socio-economic consequences of youth unemployment are becoming more apparent. The high rates of joblessness among young people often lead to social unrest contributing to political instability in various regions of the world. This paper explores the complex relationship between youth unemployment and political instability examining how unemployment among the youth demographic exacerbates political unrest weakens democratic institutions and fuels extremism and populism. Through a comparative analysis of case studies from different countries the paper aims to uncover the underlying factors that link youth unemployment to political instability with a particular focus on emerging economies.
